I teach guitar students ages 10 through adults, from complete beginners to developing intermediate players. My students have a variety of goals from learning their favorite songs and becoming confident on guitar to develop stronger technique, fretboard knowledge, soloing and improvising, and overall musicianship.
-

-
Absolutely! You don’t need any previous guitar experience to get started. Lessons are tailored to your current level, so beginners can build a strong foundation to learn music they enjoy.

Students are expected to practice at least 20 minutes per day. You don’t need to spend hours practicing every day to improve. Consistent, focused practice is much more important than occasional marathon sessions.
-
That depends on your goals and experience. Lessons can include anything from chord fluency, strumming, picking, fretboard knowledge, barre chords, soloing, improvising, songs, and more. The goal isn’t simply to memorize songs, it’s to help you understand the guitar and become increasingly capable and independent as a musician.
-
I work with a variety of styles including rock, blues, pop, acoustic, funk, jazz, and other contemporary styles.
If you are looking for classical, flamenco, other finger styles, advanced jazz, I would not be the best fit. While I enjoy and appreciate these styles, you are better off finding a teacher who specializes in these areas.

For online, absolutely you’ll need your own guitar and setup that allows me to see and hear your playing clearly.
For in-person, I have guitars available for students to use during their lesson if needed. However, having access to a guitar at home is important because regular practice is an essential part of making progress.
-
Yes! Online lessons are not only highly effective, they are also super convenient as you can learn from the comfort of your home anywhere in the world. The biggest factor in your progress isn’t whether we’re in the same room, it’s the quality and consistency of your instruction and practice.
-
Absolutely! Online lessons have allowed me to work with students throughout the United States and internationally.

A reliable high speed internet connection
